Chindiralia New Year Day Observance in Thailand

I had no idea Chindiralia New Year Day would have taken off so quickly!

After work last night I was heading over to Rowan’s and stopped in the centre of town to pick up some supplies. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this:

Chindiralia New Year Day in Bangkok

Chindiralia New Year Day in Bangkok

As you can see, the team of dragon carriers (I imagine there is a proper term for them) are Indians and Australians! What you can’t see is the team of Chinese people to the right of the dragon eating Vegemite on naan while singing Waltzing Matilda to Bhangra beats. It was pretty awesome.

I think this photo has captured the first ever public celebration of Chindiralia New Year Day (apart from on this blog but that doesn’t count because ‘online public events’ are completely stupid).

While we are celebrating, being grateful for all they good things we have and basking in the warmth of our loved ones, let us do one more thing.

Please pray for a lady, her 3 children, her husband and their parents. Remember to also pass the requests around to all your friends and through your blog.

The Ox year is upon us may this rushing bull be in a great hurry to rush all the good health, happiness, harmony, joy and warmth into your household.

Now I can realy write LOL (and it is my first use of this acronym in earnest ever!). Hilarious! Was Bowie there? I have a feeling he was somewhere in the crowd looking-on at Chindiralia New Year Day in Bangkok, I mean where else would he be? It’s an absolute sensation Sarah!
